 A summer puppet & book series, book swap, and reading program at College Square Mall featuring the Cedar Falls Public Library.
Summer Puppet & Book Series
Thursday, August 13 @ 11 am
This FREE event takes place in the mall's west wing near UniversiTEES
The Cedar Falls Library Staff will perform puppet shows based on the books "Buster" by Denise Fleming and "A Little Story about a BIG Turnip" by Tatiana Zunshine.
Book Swap
After the puppet show, stick around for a book swap! Children are encouraged to bring their gently read books to trade for "new" gently read books. Donated and purchased books from outside sources will also be part of the book swap. For every book a child brings for the swap they will be able to take one with them if they desire.
2009 Summer Reading Program
WHO: ALL kids ages 2-11 (kids who cannot read can be read to and still be eligible!)
WHEN: June 14 - August 8. Registration begins June 1 at the Customer Service Desk. June 17 will be the last date reading program materials and guidelines will be available.
WHERE: Anywhere you love to read! At home, at the Mall, on vacation, or outside enjoying a warm, summer day.
WHY: To earn a $10 gift card to a College Square store.
HOW:
1) Read a total of 1,200 minutes between June 14 & August 8. A minimum of 60 minutes must be read each week. No exceptions.
2) Track the minutes you read on your blue "Reading Tracker Card" each week.
3) A parent or guardian must come to College Square Mall's Customer Service Center located in the mall's Theatre wing, to officially submit minutes read to qualify for the prize. Please do not call in your child's minute totals; minutes will only be accepted at the Mall in person. Thank you.
Important Dates to Remember
Week 1 June 14- - 20: Please submit minutes read this week no later than July 4 by 5pm.
Week 2 June 21 27: Please submit minutes read this week no later than July 4 by 5pm.
Week 3 June 28 - July 4: Please submit minutes read this week no later than July 18 by 7pm.
Week 4 July 5 - 11: Please submit minutes read this week no later than July 18 by 7pm.
Week 5 July 12 -18: Please submit minutes read this week no later than Aug. 1 by 7pm.
Week 6 July 19 - 25: Please submit minutes read this week no later than Aug. 1 by 7pm.
Week 7 July 26 - Aug. 1: Please submit minutes read this week no later than Aug. 15 by 7pm.
Week 8 Aug. 2 - 8: Please submit minutes read this week no later than Aug. 15 by 7pm.
Prizes will be available for pick up at Customer Service on August 24 at 10am.
If minutes are not offically submitted to Customer Service by the above dates or the minimum of 60 minutes per week are not read, the reader will no longer be eligible for the gift card prize.
